Our Good Causes: Birmingham Children’s Hospital Charity

At Play it Green, 10% of everything we receive from our customers goes to a good cause of their choice. One of these good causes is the Birmingham Children’s Hospital Charity, and today we would like to celebrate all of the fantastic work that they do.

Founded more than 150 years ago, the Birmingham Children’s Hospital Charity offers the very best specialist care for sick children and always strives to do more for their patients and families.  Through the kindness, generosity, and hard work of their supporters, each day, they get closer to achieving their visions to provide the best possible facilities and environment at Birmingham Children’s Hospital.

Their work focuses on four key areas, the two being the child and family experience and the hospital environment. This includes creating comfortable, safe, imaginative settings and funding exciting and creative play experiences.

Of course, much of the funding goes toward funding research and innovation, allowing their medical teams to explore new ideas, techniques, and treatments that will help to save and improve young lives. Some also goes towards enabling technology and equipment advances, supporting ground-breaking medical and nursing techniques.

All of these amazing efforts mean not only that the children will receive the best care possible but that eventually, many more diseases can be treated with ease.

On top of their incredibly social impact, the Birmingham Children’s Hospital Charity’s Fundraising team are members of the Green Impact Scheme and work hard to improve sustainability within their workplace and operations.

Some changes they have made already include switching entirely to recyclable packaging, embracing virtual working, encouraging cycle schemes, and creating a new range of eco- and carbon-neutral fundraising events.
