Play It Green was created to provide a simple and cost-effective way for people, businesses, schools and sports clubs to take the next step to a more sustainable future.
Our Story
While the Earth has deteriorated over the past few decades, all we need to do is not just about ourselves but our next generation. Our two founders, Richard and Chris, who were brought together by their children, are dedicated to investing in a better future for the planet, ourselves, and our children while improving social inequality caused by climate change.
Planting trees is only one of the steps to take immediate action on your carbon footprint. We strongly believe in the power of both individual and collective action, and the only way to make a difference is to live more sustainably. Because changing the way we live today means we will be able to prosper tomorrow.

Play It Green was founded on the idea of doing things the right way. In a post-covid world we all need to be more conscious of our impact and we like to think that we can be conscious capitalists and use our profit to do good. With that in mind, our values are as follows:
Openness
We wish to be one of the most open and transparent limited companies in the world. To do this, all of our board meeting reprots, accounts, tree purchase receipts(link to 9.1 Governance), donation receipts and sign-ups are shared openly.
We also regularly publish tree planting reports (link to 6.2 Tree Planting Partner), updating on our progress and going into detail about a particular aspect of our tree planting or business. You can even visit our tree planting sites in Madagascar through Google Earth.
Togetherness
Collectively we are stronger and better both internally and externally. Our community is part of global, national and local communities which will be embraced, used for good and celebrated.
We work with partners all across the world and operate on a philosophy that promotes working together to make an even bigger social and environmental impact. We help communities make the change needed through easy-to-follow tips and education while also helping them encourage others to make those changes in their own lives. Because together, we can achieve more.

Once your company signs up for the Climate Positive Workforce, your employees will have their own Forest Garden, which is under your Company Master Forest Garden, to encourage them to get involved in this sustainability initiative and make their own impact.
Meet our Co-Founders
Chris Thair - Co-Founder and CEO
Chris is the ex-CEO of Wales Rugby League and the Rugby League European Federation after 20+ years working in sport. A graduate of Loughborough University and Manchester Met Universities, qualified Chemistry teacher and involved in numerous global sporting event.
Richard Dickson - Co-Founder and Head of Engagement
Richard is the ex-Director of Global Partnerships for Green Earth Appeal’s not-for-profit initiative, Carbon Free Dining and hugely experienced in the sustainability sector. Richard ran the global restaurant initiative, Carbon Free Dining and which was responsible for over 1 million new trees being planted in the developing world and its expansion to 12 countries.
