Member in Focus: Ben Wild

For this week’s Member in Focus, we talked to Ben Wild, from Ben Wild Studios, about how he got to where he is, what drives him, and why he chose to partner with Play it Green.

To get started, why don’t you tell us a bit about yourself and what you do?

I am Ben. I run Ben Wild Studios ltd, a multi-discipline animation and film studio. We work with some of the biggest names on the planet. I also donate a lot of my time to helping local-based charities and organisations.

How did you get started?

I quit school at 15/16 to jump out into the creative industry, this led me on an adventure around the world. Doing this allowed me to learn different creative techniques and it helped me identify what path I’d like to go down.

You have clearly seen a lot of success at a very young age; if you could give others one piece of advice, what would that be?

Believe in yourself, as cliche as that sounds. Hard work, too. Being nice, too, killing them with kindness is a great technique to move forward in your career.

What gets you up in the morning?

Helping make the small world around me better due to the work I do and the impact I have on others.

Is there anyone that you look up to or admire that has influenced you?

David Attenborough, Walt Disney, and Steve Jobs have all been incredibly influential people on my life and career.

Why is sustainability important to you?

It’s very clear we need to make a huge change to the way the world works and runs. Due to this, I am trying to make as big of an impact and difference as I can with the resources I have.

Why Play It Green?

I have followed Richard’s work for quite some time and I am a huge fan. Love the branding too.

You have your very own Forest Garden with Play it Green, what has that been like so far?

It’s been a blast and a clear piece of content to show my colleagues and clients on what we stand for as a business.

Do you have anything planned in the future to continue your sustainability journey?

I am looking into further ways to make my business more sustainable. I will be reaching out to you guys more and more to help with this.

You can visit the Ben Wild Studios Forest Garden here.

As a Play it Green member, Ben is not only helping to repair the planet through reforestation, but also helping lift people out of poverty, reducing his own footprint, and giving back to his chosen charity, Sea Shepherd, which helps protect marine wildlife.
